One of the surprising aspects of Sustainable Energy Academy 2016 was the diversity of its participants. There were local and provincial government representatives from the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions. The participation of the Syunik representatives was made possible by support from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which has an office in Kapan working on local capacity building.

 

Architects

  • Agnessa Meliksetyan is a PhD student at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. She participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Armen Minassian is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. He is also an architect in PALIMPSEST Consulting.

Engineers

  • Andranik Arakelyan is a lecturer at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
  • Arshavir Grigoryan is an engineer who graduated from the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Artashes Aristakesyan is a chemical engineer; he also holds a MSc. in Environmental engineering. He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Gayane Grigoryan is an engineer. She is currently the president of the Geology Museum of Yerevan’s Ecoclub.
  • Harutyun Alpetyan is an Industrial Engineering and Systems Management MSc. Student at the American University of Armenia. He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Hovhannes Karapetyan holds an MSc. In Energy Engineering. He is currently the president of Young Engineers Association NGO.
  • Karen Hovhannisyan holds an MSc in Energy Engineering. He is currently an MBA student at the American University of Armenia.
  • Naira Gezhoyan holds an Msc in Engineering in the field of Electric Power.
  • Ruben Khachatryan is a PhD student at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
  • Seda Zohrabyan currently studies at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
  • Yervand Shamamyan is a lecturer at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.

Teachers

  • Anush Mkrtchyan is an engineer and a physics teacher. She participated in the school insulation process in Kalavan.
  • Narine Piloyan holds an MSc in Biophysics. She is a teacher and has started a biogas project at her school. She participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Nelli Asoyan is a physics teacher. She participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.

Government and public officials

  • Armen Shishanyan currently works at the Gegharkunik Governor’s office (Marzpetaran). He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Arshak Davoyan currently works at the Gegharkunik Governor’s office (Marzpetaran).
  • Artur Arzumanyan is an urban planner. He works on energy efficiency projects in the Syunik region. He currently works at the Syunik Governor’s office (Marzpetaran).
  • Nubar Ohanyan currently works at the Agarak Municipality.
  • Diana Grigoryan currently works at the Yerevan Municipality, in the Department of Nature Protection. She is a member of the Yerevan municipality smart city and urban planners’ commission.
  • Garegin Gabrielyan currently works at the Kajaran Municipality.
  • Ivan Dinunts is an architect from Goris. He currently works at the Goris Municipality.
  • Karen Grigoryan currently works at the Kapan Municipality. He works in energy efficiency of buildings. He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Tania Arzumanyan currently works at the RA Ministry of Urban Development. She is head of the Housing and Utilities Department.
  • Vanik Sargsyan currently works at the Meghri Municipality.

Students

  • Ani Sargsyan is a student at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
  • Christ Poghosyan is a BSc. student at the European Regional Academy in Caucasus studying International Relations.

  • Lusine Kalantaryan holds a Master’s Degree in Regional Policy from the Yerevan State University, as well as studied at the RA Diplomatic School of Armenia.

Sustainable development and Environmental planning

  • Gohar Shahinyan is a researcher and an MSc. Student in GIS. She currently works at Researchers For Bio Heating Solutions NGO. She participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Hrachya Harutyunyan holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Russian-Armenian University. He works in permaculture, and has started a pilot project for introducing sustainable living.
  • Sophya Geghamyan is a Phd student in Environmental Planning and Management at the Comenius University in the Department of Landscape Ecology. She participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.

Sales and financing

  • Samvel Karapetyan works in renewable energy & Energy Efficiency financing, project assessment and energy auditing. He participated in the Kalavan school thermal insulation.
  • Vahe Petrosyan currently works as a Sales Manager. He is currently an MBA student at the American University of Armenia.
