Sustainable Energy Academy 2017, jointly organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment, is dedicated to the theme “Toward Local Energy Generation: Why & How.”
Topics are devoted to promoting energy resilience and independence in communities by investing in renewable energy and energy efficient solutions at the household and community level. The Academy 2017 consists of following activities:
A. Sustainable Energy Expositions on related energy solutions, products, and service providers available in Armenia. These are one-day events to be held on July 22, 29, and August 5, one in each of the 3 different regions of the country: north, center, and south. (See Expo)
B. One-day Workshops on sustainable energy for 3 target groups. These are one-day events to be held on July 22, 29, and August 5, one in each of the 3 different regions of the country: north, center, and south. (See Workshops)
C. Post-Workshop Activities to be developed by workshop participants with the support of AUA Acopian Center for the Environment staff. (See More)
D. Wrap up conference in November at the American University of Armenia, presenting and pitching projects developed to funders and investors. (See More)
Activities A and B will be held in parallel on 3 different dates, each in a different region of the country: north, center, and south. Communities in each region are encouraged to participate in the event organized for their region. Below are the location, venues, and dates of activities A and B:
Northern Region (northern Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak, and Tavush marzes)
