Research Projects
Under STREACS, the American University of Armenia and its partners are launching a series of focused research projects that address Armenia’s most pressing energy transition and climate security challenges. These projects combine advanced modelling, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to produce actionable knowledge for a sustainable and secure energy future.
Proposed interdisciplinary projects include:
- Assessment of Armenia’s Energy Security and Climate Indicators under Energy Transition Scenarios for 2030–2050
- Enhancing Modeling Capacity and Toolkits for the Armenian Energy System
- Solar PV and Hydropower Local Impact in Armenia
- Rare-Earth-Free Induction Machines for Energy & Climate Security
- Electricity Market Liberalization under High Variable Renewable Energy Growth
- Advancing Energy Solutions in Armenia: Storage Systems and Peer-to-Peer Trading
- Regulatory Sandboxes and Smart Grid Innovation
- Artificial Intelligence and Heterogeneous Microelectronics for Cybersecure and Resilient Energy Systems
All research lines integrate gender and inclusivity perspectives and apply open science principles, ensuring results are accessible and policy-relevant. Findings will inform Armenia’s energy policy and position its researchers within the European Research Area.
