Sustainable Energy Academy 2016

Project time period:

2016

Project Description:

The Heinrich Boell Foundation and the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment collaborated on the 2016 Sustainable Energy Academy, which offered an intensive 2-week long course on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy management. In 2016, the Academy included a specific theoretical and practical focus on building insulation and efficient heating systems.

The long-term aim of the academy is to create a community of young professionals and students who will be equipped to promote and implement sustainable energy solutions at the building, district/community, and national levels.

Participation in the Academy was free of charge. Participants, however, should have committed to fully attend all theoretical and practical sessions as well as partake in follow-up activities organized by the Academy for the remainder of 2016. The follow-up activities could include short training sessions or public discussions aimed at specific stakeholders (e.g. building materials salespeople, students, etc.).
