Project Description:

Sustainable Energy Academy 2017, jointly organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment, was dedicated to the theme “Toward Local Energy Generation: Why & How.”

Topics were devoted to promoting energy resilience and independence in communities by investing in renewable energy and energy efficient solutions at the household and community level. The long-term aim of the academy is to create a community of young professionals and students who will be equipped to promote and implement sustainable energy solutions at the building, district/community, and national levels.

a. Sustainable Energy Expositions on related energy solutions, products, and service providers available in Armenia.
b. One-day Workshops on sustainable energy for 3 target groups.
c. Post-Workshop Activities to be developed by workshop participants with the support of AUA Acopian Center for the Environment staff.
d. Wrap-up conference in November at the American University of Armenia, presenting and pitching projects developed to funders and investors
