Waste Governance in Armenia

Project Description:

The AUA Acopian Center for the Environment has implemented the WASTE GOVERNANCE IN ARMENIA project within the Swedish Armenian SDG Expert Exchange Programme funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Swedish partner of the program is the Life Foundation and Miljö & Avfallsbyrån AB as expertise support.

The project aimed at providing independent expert advice to Armenian government decision-makers, using Armenian and Swedish experts, for the development of national solid waste governance policy, strategy, and roadmap basing on the principles of the Circular Economy.

The Armenian government’s reform agenda is aimed at achieving EU-approximation within the framework of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and to contribute to Armenia’s commitment to the Sustainability Goals (SDGs) within the Agenda 2030.
