Two Youth and Civil Society Workshops in the field of sustainable energy were held for the community youth, civil society and residents of the Getik Valley region & its surrounding communities. The first workshop was held in Chambarak on September 15 & 16, 2018. The second workshop was held in the village of Martuni on September 22.
The workshops included ideation sessions, where the workshop participants brainstormed and discuss ideas for sustainable energy solutions which could be implemented within their communities. Following the workshop, the participants who were interested in preparing proposals were matched with mentors to assist them in the process of developing project proposals. The role of the mentor was to lead and assist the local groups to develop a project proposal in the field of sustainable energy.
Forty-one residents from the Getik Valley took part in the Chambarak Workshop and twenty-five participants attended the Martuni Village Workshop. In addition to the participants, fifteen alumni from the previous years’ Academy took part in the Chambarak Workshop as mentors.The accommodation and transportation for the mentors in Chambarak was provided.
Sustainable Energy Academy 2018’s local coordinator in the Getik Valley was the “Chambarak Development Foundation”.
