Environmental Education
The AUA Acopian Center engages in environmental education across various age groups and audiences. It develops curriculum for AUA undergraduate and graduate students. It also develops professional development courses covering a wide range of topics including sustainable agriculture, sustainable cities, sustainable agriculture, forest and biodiversity, participatory approaches to environmental governance, and more. The Center has also worked on primary to secondary education, both reviewing existing curriculum in Armenia and recommending reforms as well as working directly with schools and schoolchildren on hands on environmental initiatives like “edible” schoolyards, which included vermicomposting and more. The Center also also published textbooks, handbooks, and audio-visual materials useful for environmental education.
